How can I prepare?

This course is designed for people new to the area, but it will do you no harm to start thinking through the issues for yourself. There are a variety of good books on the market. This one is good for those new to Philosophy:

Cave, P. (2007) Can a Robot be Human? 33 Perplexing Philosophy Puzzles. Oxford: Oneworld Publications

While the three below are slightly more difficult.

Alternatively, just listen to the interviews that we have up on this site:

www.open2.net/ethicsbites/

Other than that, you might want to pay attention to what is on the news, and try to work out where you stand on the rightness or wrongness of what is going in the world around us.
