Creative Writing with the Open University

This Open University course adopts the student-centred approach used by the best creative writing courses, offering you a range of strategies and possibilities to help you to develop as a writer. You will be encouraged to value your own resources of memory, observation and individual voice. The emphasis will be highly practical, with a range of exercises and activities designed to ignite and sustain the writing impulse. The aims of the course are:

This course is suitable not only for aspiring writers, but for any students with a strong enquiring interest in reading and writing and will be of interest to Literature students keen to learn more about the kinds of strategies that writers commonly employ.

A215 is a 60-point, Level 2 course, presented over 32 weeks, starting every September.
