Who should do this course? If you are interested in studying film from a historical perspective and already have some experience of studying history or film, then this course would be suitable for you. If you would like to take this course but have no experience of studying film or history, you may like to consider other OU courses first, either at foundation level or at level 2. AA310 should be especially interesting for students who have studied DA204: Understanding Media. The two courses are designed to be complementary even though there are differences of approach, given the differences between Arts and Social Sciences. Follow this link to find out more about choosing your course. If you are already an Open University student, follow this link to read more about planning your studies (you will need your OU computer username and password). AA310 can count towards a named degree – BA (Hons) History, BA (Hons) Humanities, BA (Hons) Humanities with History, BA (Hons) Humanities with Media Studies and BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) Social Sciences with Media Studies.
