The Annual Meeting of Postgraduates in Ancient Literature is a conference where graduate students present their research to other postgraduates. It offers an opportunity to take part in discussion, exchange ideas and meet other postgraduates in a friendly and supportive environment. It is an ideal forum for students to present their first conference paper. The conference also welcomes postgraduates who just want to come and listen to the papers, socialize, network, and perhaps take part in the process of peer reviews. Please follow the link and fill in the Registration form. This year the theme for the conference is: ‘Sex and the (ancient) City: Love and Friendship in Greece and Rome’ For the first time peer review will be available to all participants. This kind of feedback is rarely (if ever) given at academic conferences, and will benefit not only the student who has just embarked on their research but also other students presenting for a first time. It is a completely voluntary process but a feedback form will be provided for any delegate interested in writing a peer review. CALL FOR PAPERS NOW CLOSED Our keynote speaker will be Professor Lorna Hardwick. Registration for this conference is free, although there will be a charge for accommodation. See this website for further details of the venue and accommodation. Please direct any queries about the conference to ampal08@googlemail.com. We gratefully acknowledge support from the Open University
and funding from the Institute for Classical Studies, the Classical Association,
the Arts and Humanities Research Council,
Classics in the HCA Subject Centre and the Hellenic Society. |
