Welcome

This is the website for Building on History: the Church in London, a ground breaking project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, running until 2012 and a partnership between the Anglican Diocese of London, Lambeth Palace Library, King’s College London and the Open University.

For an in-depth introduction to the project, please see about us and our project video. Our aim is to contribute to the self-understanding of the Diocese of London by transferring the insights of historical research into the people and buildings of the diocese and encouraging new historical enquiry amongst people within the diocese.
