Building on History is a collaborative project between The Open University, King’s College London, the Diocese of London and Lambeth Palace Library.
This project was generously supported by the AHRC.
There are also various other organisations and groups which explore the links between history and the contemporary church. In particular, see:
Divine Inspiration provides resources to help churches make their buildings and heritage available to the wider community.
The Centre for Christianity and Culture provides resources which allow students, schools and the wider public to engage with history, literature, art and music influenced by Christian thought and spirituality. It recently produced an educational DVD ‘The English Parish Church through the Ages’.
English Heritage protects and promotes historical sacred sites through a range of projects and resources.
The National Churches Trust has as one of its aims to promote understanding and engagement with historic church buildings.
