Programme & Abstracts :: Conference Photographs

The study of dress in antiquity has had a renaissance in recent scholarship. This conference, organised by the Open University and the University of Birmingham, aims to bring together ancient historians, costume historians, textile experts, archaeologists, fashion theorists, art historians and anthropologists in order to widen the debate and enhance our current understanding of the role of dress in ancient societies.

Papers presented at the conference will be published on this website later in 2002. Delegates can now order copies of photographs taken at the conference - follow this link for more information.
