The study of the numerous Etruscan epitaphs, which often give complete identity and filiation - both on father's and mother's side - allows us to perceive geographical and social movements. For example, it is possible to follow the ascension of a family starting from a freedman and arriving at a high-ranking magistrate; to determine the matrimonial policy of a community - with preferential exchange between one city and another; to observe integration in Roman society - with the gradual use of the Latin language - and in the ruling class of Rome - with the access of Etruscan named persons to high offices.
