Military Music in Britain 1780-1914 This project is aimed at creating a body of empirical sources that will inform a new history of military sponsorship of music in Britain in the nineteenth century. It will lead to a revision and repositioning of the role of the military in British music culture. The sources included here will be expanded further and will be disseminated to institutions (such as regimental museums) that hold archival information relevant to military music.
