Edward Burke, Inspector, Metropolitan Police, New Scotland Yard, London S.W.

Metropolitan Police Constable Henry Fraser, who joined the above Police Force on 12th February 1883, tendered to me on 21st inst. an application to resign his office of Police Constable at once. This application was submitted to Superintendent John Shore under whom the said Police Constable was placed and by the direction of Supt. Shore I on 21st inst. told the said Police Constable that his application to resign at once had been refused and that if he desired to resign his office he must submit another application giving the customary month's notice. The said Police Constable then replied that he should not submit another notice and that he should not attend for duty at 8 am 22nd inst. as he was ordered to do and that I could report him and get him fined £5 for being absent. He did not attend for duty at the time named and I have not been able to ascertain his present whereabouts. By direction of the Commissioner of Police I now apply for a warrant under 2 + 3 Vict. C. 47, Sect. 15, for his arrest.

William Burke.
