Dr Mackie and Dr Roberts continue to research and publish on the history of the British chemical community in the 19th and 20th centuries, and are now preparing a book. They maintain the widely used and regularly updated The Biographical Database of the British Chemical Community, 1880-1970, a substantially augmented edition of which is now available. They have also taken the initiative of starting a new interfaculty research cluster on Biographical Methodologies.
