I worked internationally as an analyst, consultant and programmer at the Science Museum/NMSI, Museum of London, the Catalhoyuk Research Project, Museum Victoria, and in the commercial sector. In 2011 I completed a Masters in Human-Centred Systems (City University) with a project investigating game design to crowdsource museum collections metadata for 'difficult' objects.
In March 2011 I began a fully-funded studentship at the Open University on conceptualising space in a digital world, where I will be investigating the participatory digitisation and geo-location of historical materials.
My key areas of interest are social history, human-computer interaction theories, crowdsourcing, user experience design, digital heritage, public history and museum interpretation and collections online. I tweet at http://twitter.com/mia_out and blog at http://openobjects.blogspot.com/
