Faculty of Arts teaching and research showcase:

Literature

The Literature Department provides a wide range of engaging undergraduate courses from Shakespeare to contemporary authors, and one of the Arts Faculty’s popular named degrees, the BA (Hons.) Literature. We also have a thriving postgraduate programme.

Open Day provides an opportunity to see who we are and what we do, to meet and talk informally to both members of the department and PhD students about what we offer and what it’s like to study with us, and to find out about our newest courses.

This year’s Open Day events include:

  • A display of new research and publications by members of the department
  • A display of 19th-century book jackets illustrating some of the work of our Colonial and Postcolonial Studies and Book History research groups
  • Information on our new courses, including A300 Twentieth-Century Literature and A215 Creative Writing
  • The chance to try out the new interactive DVDs for A300
  • A talk by the Literature Department’s Reader in Creative Writing, prize-winning novelist Dr Linda Anderson (12.15, Arts Marquee 2).
