Faculty of Arts talk: Linda Anderson will read from her work and talk about the challenges of trying to find fresh approaches to writing about Northern Ireland, her birthplace, given that it has been the subject of so much film, documentary, and fiction (over 800 novels in the last thirty years including a large percentage of what has been called ‘Troubles-trash’). Linda is an award-winning novelist (To Stay Alive and Cuckoo) and story writer whose work has been published in Britain, Ireland, USA and Australia. She writes a regular column, Write on the Wild Side, for Mslexia magazine. Linda Anderson is a Reader in Creative Writing at the Open University’s Literature Department.
