William Henry Hudson, Denis Shrubsall (ed.), Birds of a Feather: Unpublished Letters of W. H. Hudson, (Bradford-on-Avon, 1981), p. 27, http://www.open.ac.uk/Arts/reading/UK/record_details.php?id=33927, accessed: 26 April 2024

Additional Comments:

Hudson's letter indicates that he had been at his London address for 10 months. It is not clear whether he subscribed to the "Saturday Review" or borrowed it from his local library. His work was reviewed therein and he had already written some essays for this periodical (see same letter).
