The quality of research in the Faculty of Arts is very well recognised and the vibrant research culture within the Faculty supports the work of many internationally-renowned scholars.

Collaborative work takes place in a number of research groups and projects which run conferences and seminar series and publish research.

The Ferguson Centre for African and Asian Studies is a Research Centre established by the Faculty of Arts and named in honour of the founding Dean.

The inter-faculty International Centre for Comparative Criminological Research (ICCCR) is one of six recognized University Research Centres.
