Magazines and resource centres

There is a resource centre which contains applets and Java development materials at a Web site at the University of Frankfurt.

Almost certainly the best Web magazine devoted to Java is Java World. It contains articles, announcements and links to many other Java sites. Another good source for Java material is Sun World. However, this site also contains information on many other Sun products so you will have to carry out a little navigation. A good directory of Java resources is Gamelan - A commercial site which contains product announcements and a catalogue of applets.

Some recent products

Two of the more interesting Java products are:

  • Cafe, an integrated development environment with a GUI builder from Symantec.
  • JBuilder, an integrated development environment from Borland.
