The Ambient Lab and Observation room recently played host to IET's project which brings fieldwork and lab activity closer together via a co-ordinated use of modern technology.

Researchers in Computing have begun the observation studies on the Pop-Up Wine shop at one end of the Ambient Lab. The experiment is testing how an ambient recommender service can affect people's experience and behaviour in a public space.

Three years after IET and Computing moved in to occupy the new Jennie Lee Building, the official opening ceremony for the building was held on 19th July at 5.00 pm. It was combined with a special event arranged by the Alumni office for the original cohort of OU students who started their OU studies in 1971.
The first Research Showcase organised jointly by IET and Computing for external visitors to the OU progressed smoothly on Tuesday 27th September 2011 in the Jennie Lee Research Labs.
