Need a new challenge? Come and help us deliver careers and employability services at the Open University.

Our students’ circumstances vary widely including those in prison, with caring responsibilities, from widening participation backgrounds and with disabilities. You will support students at every career stage.

This is an opportunity to develop innovative services including the proactive delivery of online forums and webinars, and to develop partnerships with other units in the University, with a particular focus on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Faculty, and on the University’s Open Programme. You will work with academics to support the embedding of employability and PDP related activities into the curriculum.

You should have a first degree, and a professional careers qualification or a Postgraduate Certificate in University Teaching and Learning, or equivalent. You should have experience of curriculum development at HE level, and an understanding of the issues affecting student employability.  Proven experience in delivering careers advice and guidance preferably within higher education and in delivering services through online media would be beneficial.

As part of Careers and Employability Services you need to be able to adapt rapidly to change, show initiative and solve problems creatively. An understanding of the needs of adult or distance learners is an advantage.
