The role

An exciting opportunity is available to join the Strategic Planning Team in the Strategy Office, to lead Unit Business Planning across the University in alignment with the University’s strategic vision and Strategic Plan, student number assumptions and financial context so that it serves the University and supports planning and resource allocation across the four Nations of the University.

You will be supporting the development and delivery of dedicated Vice-Chancellor’s Executive and Planning Coordination Group meetings and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders through the Unit Business Planning community. You will identify risks and challenges, and work with colleagues to develop appropriate response actions to ensure that the Unit Business Planning process meets its objectives. You will also help to develop the future direction of the University’s approach to Unit Business Planning through continuous improvement and external benchmarking.

Skills and experience

To be effective in this role, you will have excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills and an ability to contribute to the effective working of cross-functional teams.  This will be supported by excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills, with a calm approach to dealing with conflicting demands and challenging deadlines.  You will be able to apply these capabilities to collaborative pieces of work that can range from developing new processes to supporting Unit Business Planning stakeholders and facilitating discussions.
