A donation in memory is a really positive way to remember and celebrate the life of someone close
There are many ways to raise funds in memory of a loved one – from money in lieu of flowers, to collections at funerals, to a straightforward lump sum.
Alison Newlyn wrote to us with a donation in memory of her mother, Mary Pitfield-Perry. Orphaned in infancy, Mary was brought up in a National Children’s Home and became an early and very enthusiastic Open University graduate. “She was enormously proud of her achievement and a great advocate of the OU,” says Alison; “an enthusiasm she passed on to me and my brother, both OU graduates.”
We are honoured and grateful for gifts like Alison’s, and by giving others the chance of a brighter future, the memory of a cherished friend or family member lives on.
