The OU has received over £2.4 million in donations in 2010-11 to support its work widening access to education in the UK and overseas.
OU alumni and other suppoters contributed £628,000 towards that figure. This will be used to benefit those students in financial need, disabled students and other projects aimed at encouraging as many people as possible from disadvantaged areas, to participate in education and to benefit from the opportunities that it can bring.
