Elisa is the Head of Programme Funding and Business Development within the Open University’s International Development Office (IDO). She is responsible for driving the growth of IDO programmes and projects on the ground in Africa, Asia and globally. This includes co-shaping and leading on the implementation of a new fundraising strategy, building strategic relationships with funders, peer NGOs and other partners, ensuring good practice in programme funding and business development, and managing the Business Development Team.
Elisa has 18 years’ experience in the humanitarian and international development sector. She worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross and World Vision from 2000-2016 in project design and development, programme management and supervision, management of field offices in developing countries, and as a trainer in project development and delivery. Elisa lived and worked ten years in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, the former Soviet Union and Iraq. She is fluent in English, French, Russian, Polish and Italian.
