Miles Hedges

Role

The Finance Director is responsible for the overall running of the Finance Division, for the University's budgetary control and financial matters, and the production of the University's financial statements and other financial reports.

Career

After leaving Oxford University Miles Hedges trained as a chartered accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, where his clients included Oxford University, Reading University and three colleges of London University. In 1989 he was seconded to the Universities Funding Council for two years and in 1991 was appointed Finance Director of the University of Nottingham. From 1994 to 1998 he also chaired the British Universities Finance Directors Group. He joined the OU as Finance Director in 1999.
