About the project
The TESS-India (Teacher Education through School-based Support in India) project is working alongside the Indian Government to help India reach its target of free, compulsory and quality education for all children by 2017. The project is funded by UKaid from the Department for International Development.
The aim is to reduce pressure on teacher education institutions and enable them to deliver quality teacher training at scale and speed, to help increase the number of good quality teachers in India. This project builds on the success of its sister project, TESSA.
