The OU Access Bus

Student homes throughout England

The OU Access Centre has a network of 37 highly trained assessors located throughout the Midlands, London, the South West, the East, South East and North of England, who are available to carry out DSA assessments at home for some students who are unable to travel.

Using the OU Access Bus

The OU Access Centre is also extremely proud of its OU Access Bus – the first of its kind in higher education – which enables the OU Access Centre to travel to those students who need it, as well as demonstrating the role of the OU Access Centre at a wide range of conferences and exhibitions. The OU Access Bus is a flagship for raising disability awareness in the community.

At the Centre itself

The OU Access Centre is situated within the Frank Henshaw building at the Open University’s East Campus in Milton Keynes. It has four fully accessible DSA assessment rooms, together with a team of caring and experienced staff. All the facilities are available on the ground floor and have DSA assessment rooms, disabled toilets and car parking which are easily accessible for those using wheelchairs.

The Centre contains an unrivalled range of specialist equipment, which can be demonstrated by our assessors, and can be used to ensure higher education is available to all.
