What to do if you think you have a Virus?

If you are a member of Internal Staff

And your system informs you have a virus, or you simply suspect you may have a virus contact your ITSP immediately or contact TSS on x54238.

If you are sent an e-mail that you find suspicious or suggests that you may have a virus again contact your ITSP or contact TSS on x54238. You can also send the suspect e-mail as an Insert to the following e-mail address

AACS-TDS-CES-VIRUS@OPEN.AC.UK

If you download any file or archive, it is important to scan it with sophos before you run or open it. Email attachments, even from a trusted source, should be first saved to disk and then scanned.

If you are a Student or an Associate Lecturer

And your system informs you have a virus, or you simply suspect you may have a virus contact the Student Computing Helpdesk immediately on 01908 653972.
