Lotte Hughes

A new book by Ferguson Centre Research Fellow Lotte Hughes, co-authored with Annie Coombes and Karega-Munene, is the fruit of AHRC-funded research led by Dr Hughes in Kenya from 2008-11. Managing Heritage, Making Peace: History, Identity and Memory in Contemporary Kenya is a highly topical analysis of heritage issues, as Kenya celebrates 50 years of independence from Britain. At this important juncture, the authors show how Kenya is facing a continuing crisis over nationhood, heritage, memory and identity which must be resolved if the nation is to move forward in peace and unity.
