Stoyan Antonov, PhD, is Assistant professor at the Department of Ethnology, Paisiy Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, where he teaches several courses in Ethnology and Social Anthropology, including Methods of Fieldwork, Theory in the Social Sciences, Anthropology of Migrations, and Dynamics of Ethnicity at BA and MA levels. He is also Lecturer in Heraldry at the University of Veliko Tarnovo and Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv. Stoyan’s main areas of scholarly interest are anthropology of ethnic groups, interpretative anthropology, and heraldry. Lately, he has been carrying out research of the social interactions and informal social control in a small Bulgarian village. He has taken part in research projects addressing problems of local heritage and local identities.
