Exams at a distance?
‘How about taking exams in the comfort of your own room?’ Asked BBC reporter Katherine Sellgren before going on to suggest that ‘New technology, boasting anti-cheating software, could soon make this a possibility’. There has always been a concern at the OU that the person registered for the course is the same person who writes the continuous assessment (TMAs and CMAs as they are called) and also sits the exams or completes the End of Course Assessment. There has also been concern about access to examination centres for some students. Could this software help resolve some of these issues? Can exams be taken at a distance?
