Expertise: Entrepreneurship and sustainability, SMEs, enterprise & climate change, growth of the eco- building sector
Richard is Senior Lecturer in Enterprise Development. Most of his research has been in the field of organisation studies, with a particular focus on entrepreneurial growth processes, innovation and organisational communication. More recently he has developed an interest in the role of entrepreneurial agency and innovation in sustainability transitions.
Richard is an adviser to the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) conference (Social, Environmental and Ethical Enterprise), and a member of the Sustainable Development Commission’s Sustainable Development Panel.
He is also leading the monitoring and evaluation team for a Defra-funded ‘Greener Living Fund’ project, which is working with four trades unions on pro-environmental behaviour change.
