I just read the following “twitter” from one of my American contacts. I only follow people I know personally, so this makes it even more disturbing.

He twittered:  “So far it seems that no one I know was shot at the mall yesterday. ”

I feel I have a lot in common with my friends and contacts from all over the world, but things like this make me realise how different our day-to-day life-experiences can be. I wonder if tools like twitter have some sort of role to play in enabling us to share such experiences, and and somehow learn from them maybe?
