This took place over a lunchtime in the Old Lecture Theatre. There were stands covering the most popular “Learn about” papers available on the Knowledge Network. Popular means most downloaded. There was Geocaching, Ambient Technologies, Second Life, Blogging and Wikis to mention only a few. The stands took up about a quarter of the hall, another quarter was taken up by some hand-on interactive things like the Library Digilab stand showing a variety of mobile technologies, a wii and various other games. There were tables at which to sit an each some lunch and a small lecture area where each person in turn went to present for 5 minutes on their subject.
It went brilliantly. Lots of people stopped by and there was a real buzz to the room. This doesn’t always happen. I think it was the combination of hands-on activities and “on-demand” information that people could obtain by wandering around and asking questions.
Well done Graham Healing and Patrina Law for organising it.
