OpenLearn Conference

August 30th, 2007 · No Comments

I really like the concept of OpenLearn – making educational content freely available to anyone with an internet connection. One aim is for learners to take the content, adapt and enhance it and then upload it for others to use. I’m not sure that this has really taken off just yet as it seems to require some technical skills and a dedication to exploring the OpenLearn website that maybe many learners lack.

However I see this sharing of information alot in the web forums and interest-related websites that I frequent so it is clearly something that people will do if they’re motivated enough.

OpenLearn are hosting a free conference on 30th and 31st October. This should be well worthwhile and may help them get feedback and, indeed, spread the OpenLearn message. The URI is http://www.open.ac.uk/openlearn/openlearn2007/conference.php .
