Never meet your heroes
so they say. well let me tell you this is rubbish, particularly in the online arena.
My `social media’ heroes are Muhammad Saleem, Chris Brogan, Todd Defren and Brian Solis (notice how easy it is to contact all of these guys?). Over the past few months I’ve got to know Muhammed in a IM type of way and he’s awesome - really happy to chat, offer advice, and generally walk the talk that everyone gives about being open and honest. I’m also totally chuffed cos he gave me his one and only beta invite to soocial (which is also awesome and I’ll blog about another day!).
If you’ve not come across him before, check out a few of Mu’s guest articles on ReadWriteWeb on collaborative filtering and twitter vs plurk. If you happen to be in Las Vegas later this month I’d also definitely recommend checking out his session on establishing blogger credibility.

I wonder if the word ‘awesome’ is becoming so used in the UK due to the ease of communicating with people in the US? It has slipped into my vocab but I’ve been blaming Big Brother 9… what’s your excuse?

i can promise you it’s NOT BB9!! I’ve been listening to the lullabot podcast on the way to and from work. Every second word is awesome!

What an “awesome” list to be a part of - thank you, I am honored.

The first thing you’d realize after meeting me is just how normal I am. I’m not that different from you. I just type a lot. : )
