More OU Google goodness
I did promise myself that I wouldn’t blog here anymore but I’m having a few problems with my drupal site (anyone know how to enable comments in Views2 without the story they are attached to appearing numerous times???).
Anyway, a little while ago I played with pulling OU content from OpenLearn, YouTube and iTunes U into Google reader, taggin it (in this case arts and humanities) and then publishing the feed. This allowed me to create a widget (what Google call a clip) of that content, and also a static html page.
What i wanted to be able to do was then create a custom search of that static page which allowed people to search within the arts and humanities content that the OU has in these third party spaces. a beer with tony last night solved the problem (i think) so this search should return ou arts and history content in YT, iTunesU and OpenLearn which relate to your search query

Why not just admit defeat and install Wordpress on your new domain and export all your posts from here to there and install your theme?
Then you’ll be able to continue blogging using the best tool for the job!
Meanwhile, keep playing with Drupal behind the scenes until you reach that eureka moment that says you really need to be using Drupal for your blog.
I really don’t get why you wanna use Drupal for your blog when Wordpress is much easier to get cracking with out of the box.
Don’t let technology get int he way of good content.

Isn’t it often the case that a beer will solve the problem?
