Hosted by the Art History Department, and co-funded by Museums, Libraries and Archives (MLA), the Open Arts Archive is currently in collaboration with 16 museums and galleries around the UK. The Archive gives you direct access to a wealth of artistic and cultural resources, including:

Detailed information on forthcoming collaborative events and study days with a wide network of galleries and museums across Britain.

Shared art archives, artist interviews and access to collections.

Digital recordings of collaborative events held in each gallery.

OU arts events and research projects, including films and podcasts on art and visual culture from ancient times to the present day.

Turner Prize awarded at Open Arts Archive partner gallery

The 2011 winner of the prestigious Turner Prize was announced on 5 December, being awarded to Glasgow-based Martin Boyce, at the Baltic gallery in Gateshead. The Baltic is a partner with the Open University’s Open Arts Archive. Continue reading
