Arts and Humanities PhD Studentships, Faculty of Arts

Faculty of Arts, Open University: 9 full-time, 3-year PhD studentships available from 1 October 2013. In 2013-14, 5 AHRC-funded studentships are available in: History, with the National Library of Wales; English, with the British Library; and Music, with the National Library of Scotland. The 2 final awards with these partners are in English (e-manuscript collections) and History (digital heritage/crowdsourced data). We are also offering a Music studentship attached to the Listening Experience Database, a major AHRC-funded project in collaboration with the Royal College of Music.

Commodity Histories: new online research collaboration initiative

Earlier this year Dr Sandip Hazareesingh was awarded an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Research Networking grant under its Digital Transformations programme to develop a website to function as an innovative space for sharing research news, sources, ideas and works-in-progress about the world of commodities originating from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America. The project held its first workshop at the OU Camden centre in September. Continue reading

Become a CHASE Digital Scholar: Going Digital, January-July 2013

The Consortium of Humanities and Arts South East (CHASE) brings together The Open University, The Courtauld Institute of Arts, Goldsmiths (University of London), and Universities of East Anglia, Sussex, Kent, and Essex, to deliver outstanding postgraduate training.
