Following on from the highly successful touring exhibition in 2011, ‘Beyond the Frame: India in Britain, 1858-1950′ celebrates the often overlooked, long history of the Indian presence in Britain, reaching less-well visited areas of India, starting in Pune on 17 February, Hyderabad on 21 February and Chennai on 27 February.
Prof Gill Perry’s exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, ‘First Actresses: Nell Gwyn to Sarah Siddons’, is a major success, and is receiving widespread coverage in the media. The associated conference is held on 11 November. Continue reading
The Department of Art History has collaborated with The Royal Society to produce a small exhibition on crystals in contemporary art, ‘Crystal World’. The show features the work of artists Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey, Hubert Duprat and Michelle Charles. Continue reading
