Beyond the Frame Exhibition Tour of India

Following on from the highly successful touring exhibition in 2011, ‘Beyond the Frame: India in Britain, 1858-1950′ celebrates the often overlooked, long history of the Indian presence in Britain, reaching less-well visited areas of India, starting in Pune on 17 February, Hyderabad on 21 February and Chennai on 27 February.

Exploring Art and Visual Culture

Available from September 2012, the Faculty of Arts’ new module ‘Exploring Art and Visual Culture’ begins with the early medieval period, a time before the category of art existed in the way we understand it today. What is art and how has it changed through history? What is visual culture?
