From Monday 31st October to Friday 25th November 2011 the OU Careers Advisory Service is running an online forum for IT & Computing students wanting to pursue their career within the IT sector.  The forum will be moderated by a careers adviser, who can answer questions on job hunting strategies and career choice.  There will also be one or two employers joining the forum, who will be able to offer advice on recruitment in this sector.

Some questions you might want to ask could include:

  • What career options are available with an ICT and Computing degree?
  • How do I get into a particular field in this sector?
  • How can I get work experience?
  • What are the benefits and financial implications of further study?
  • Is age a problem for career changers in IT?

You can access the forum via the Forums page on this website, using your OU computer username and password, or go direct to the Careers Workspace.

The forum will be available for 4 weeks and will then become read-only for a further 12 months.

Take this opportunity to get your questions answered, or share your knowledge and experience with other students.
