Pre-concert talk: 20 February

Another event in the Department’s Academic Partnership with The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment takes place on Monday 20 February at The Southbank Centre, London. The pre-concert talk is part of a Study Day which will bring together undergraduate and postgraduate students from every module  of the Department’s curriculum.

The talk, on Berlioz, Mendelssohn, and Programme Music, will be given by Robert Samuels at 5.45 pm. It will take place in the Level 5 Function Room of the Southbank Centre; admission is free. It is followed by the OAE’s concert at 7 pm in the Royal Festival Hall, featuring two works by Mendelssohn: the overture The Tale of Fair Melusina and his Symphony Op. 90, “Italian”; and two works by Berlioz: Rêverie et Caprice for soloist and orchestra, and his orchestral song cycle Les Nuits d’été.
