Allegri String Quartet at the OU

Next Wednesday (26 September), the Church at Walton Hall will play host to the internationally-renowned Allegri String Quartet in a lunchtime concert featuring works by Schubert, Richard Strauss, and Anthony Payne. The concert begins at 1pm and is expected to last around an hour.

The Allegri Quartet is Britain’s longest-running chamber ensemble, and will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2013 (though the personnel have changed a number of times since its inception).  As space in the Church is limited, arriving early is recommended!

The programme is as follows:

Franz Schubert: Quartettsatz D. 703
Anthony Payne: String Quartet No. 2
Richard Strauss: String Quartet in A major Op. 2

Lunchtime concerts are supported by The Open University and the Open University Club.
