NBC News launches multimedia learning platform

Based on research by the MIT Education Arcade, iCue launched a few weeks ago to provide free online education, entertainment and learning through peer networking to learners aged 13+. Users can draw on video and gaming resources from the US based NBC News channel. The CueCard is a media player, flash card, note-taking tool, and trading card that enables users to jot down information, store bite sized chunks of learning and share these with friends. In addition to video and games there are lots of static resources to draw on and content partners include the The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.

Interesting. I wonder if Sky with its interest in developing it’s Sky Learning platform will go in this direction? The BBC has already tried with BBC Jam much to the outrage of the commercial elearning marketplace.
