World e-book fair opens
July 8th, 2008 Posted by: l.dewis
I sometimes mention in this blog how much I like books. Real paper books. Here I am at the Hay Literature festival posing with books:
I was recently on holiday with a book collector who has one book that is worth £50,000. I’m going to make a film about him and his love for books to pass on to the next generation. I might set it up in a leisure centre sports hall and pretend I’m from the Antiques Roadshow.
Everyone from Jakob Nielsen to Cory Doctorow has written about print as a medium. And since about 2002, mainstream media have been predicting the rise of e-paper.
So it was interesting to see the opening of the World e-book fair. You have until the 4th August to download one million e-book files. Get to it.
