Open is the new closed

… says Jim Groom is today’s post “Sorry, we’re open“. Jim notes how Blackboard has jumped onto the open bandwagon by working with Sakai and everyone is proclaiming to be part of this ‘new’ open world.

He notes the amount of people with ‘open’ in the name of their blogs (guilty). But what if Jim starts a sub culture backlash against the term? I was just getting to like the fact that bar-campers who’ve never heard of The Open University thought I was working for a cool start-up company. Are the EduPunks going to have to start coining some new terms? See what some of them have to say in this month’s Edupunks podcast from Pontydysgu.
