Professor Trevor Gale has been confirmed as a keynote speaker at Discourses of Inclusion conference, to be held from 24-25 April 2012.
Professor Gale is Chair in Education Policy and Social Justice at Deakin University’s School of Education in Australia. His research interests encompass sociology, social justice, schooling, higher education, pedagogy, critical ethnography and critical case study, nd he is currently working on research projects focussing on the student transition into higher education and negotiating vocational education policy text and discourse.
Professor Gale publishes widely on issues of equity, inclusion and widening participation and is a prominent figure in the rapidly developing programme of research and scholarship around equity in Australia. He has recently edited a special issue of Critical Studies in Education which focusses on ‘New Capacities for Student Equity and Widening Participation in Higher Education’.
Professor Gale joins Professor Sir David Watson and Professor Louise Morley as keynote speakers at the conference.
