It is with great sadness that we share news of the death of Professor Vijay Kapur on 31 May 2013. Vijay joined the International Advisory Board in 2010 and his expertise, energy and significant contribution to the ongoing development of the Business School will be missed.
Professor Kapur, Professor of Marketing, Sales and Strategic Management in the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and Adviser to Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), obtained his Master's degree in Business Administration, with distinction, from the University of Delhi and his doctorate from the University of South Carolina at Columbia (USA).
Professor Kapur was selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1977 and had held multiple appointments at the state and central levels in India while a member of the service. Professor Kapur pursued research/teaching in American academia, while on leave from the IAS. He returned to India from the USA in April 2005 to take up a full Professorship in the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
He had written two books on issues of governance (published by Simon and Schuster) and had over thirty published monographs, with his writings on issues connected with Politics, International Relations and International Management among others, being published in the UK, USA and in India.
