In our 21st Century:

  • Technology and big data are enabling ever faster knowledge acquisition and greater competitor awareness of an organisation’s activities
  • Technology and social media are enabling ever increasing transparency of an organisation’s inner workings
  • For organisations the interconnected world is creating ever increasing sensitivity and vulnerability to both local and global events

Even before technology, big data, social media and an interconnected world the failure rate of strategies has been reported at around 70% for many years.

The character of leaders and competence of leadership teams is increasingly being viewed through the microscopes of media scrutiny, shareholder concern and even wider public interest. Highly publicised failures in commercial and third sector entities alike indicate a deeper malaise than just ‘difficult environments’.

This webinar will discuss leaders, leadership failures and the qualities required to succeed in an interconnected and interdependent world.

This webinar is part of a 5-part series on 'Learning Leadership' and the following webinars are available throughout the week:

Monday 19 May - What Leadership isn’t and why this is good news for Leaders with Dr Ben Hardy

Tuesday 20 May - Leadership as Relationship with Dr Caroline Ramsey

Wednesday 21 May - Leadership - influencing the things that matter with Professor Rob Paton and Dr Owain Smolović-Jones

Friday 23 May - Leadership with Political Astuteness with Professor Jean Hartley

This webinar is brought to you in partnership with Campaign for Learning and is part of Learning at Work Week.
