Funded research studentships

Studentships funded by external partners enable research projects to be customised to defined organisational needs. This brings considerable benefits to partner organisations:

  • Research focussed on a current problem that an organisation is experiencing
  • Exploration of opportunities to develop particular areas of business
  • Input from leading academics in the research topic
  • Access to the wealth of the university's resources and facilities

Current and recent research topics include:

  • Absorptive capacity and the economic performance of pharmaceutical firms
  • The development of supply chain management strategies for achieving quick response to the market demand in China
  • Market for corporate control and privatized utilities

The financial contribution can vary depending on the organisation's requirements and, where appropriate, there may also be opportunities for external contributions to be matched by additional sources.
